The Alicia y Guillermo Foundation and the AEB Foundation of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) are launching ‘Your Mobile and You’, a free digital training program that will benefit 1,300 people over 60 years of age residing in Madrid in 2024.

This program will be delivered between April and December at organizations affiliated with the Alicia y Guillermo Foundation. Participants will be able to acquire essential skills for managing their mobile devices in a 3-hour training session at no cost to them.

During this session, participants will explore the basic functions of their mobile phones and learn to customize them according to their needs to advance their digital autonomy, through both theory and practical exercises.

Participants will receive information about various online payment methods, practical advice for conducting secure transactions from their mobile phones, and cybersecurity recommendations. Additionally, they will receive a support manual to accompany the training.

The project has the support of volunteers from CUNEF Universidad, who will provide assistance during the training sessions. This intergenerational approach of ‘Your Mobile and You’ fosters collaboration and learning between different age groups.

“The banking sector is committed to facilitating digital training for all groups, but especially for seniors, so they can benefit from this powerful tool to improve their personal well-being. This program is a unique opportunity for them to make the most of all its capabilities and immerse themselves in the digital world with confidence and security,” states Alejandra Kindelán, President of AEB and its Foundation.
