Since its launch in 2018, the Expertclick programme has brought technology closer to more than 10,000 older people across Spain through free workshops on the easy and safe use of technological tools to improve their autonomy, independence and quality of life.

Driven by the Cibervoluntarios Foundation and the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) Foundation—with the support of the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda—this initiative aims to equip people aged 55 and over with basic digital skills, especially in rural areas.

In 2025 alone, more than 2,000 older people have taken part in these workshops at no cost to beneficiaries thanks to more than 170 activities organised in collaboration with nearly a hundred entities in 30 provinces.

The four-hour courses teach participants how to use a mobile phone and tablet to make video calls, use leisure apps, browse and shop online, book medical appointments online, use the digital certificate and electronic signature, and carry out banking transactions easily and securely, among other skills.

In addition to in-person workshops, the programme offers practical video tips and a free helpline—by phone and online—with a team of experts who help resolve technology-related queries, thereby extending its digital reach.

Alejandra Kindelán, Chair of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) Foundation, highlights that “Expertclick is a clear example of how technology can help improve older people’s daily lives by facilitating access to essential services. The aim is to strengthen their confidence in the digital environment so that they can take advantage of all the opportunities it offers”.

For Yolanda Rueda, Chair of the Cibervoluntarios Foundation, “thanks to the continuity of this project, we can continue helping older people make their day-to-day lives easier, gain autonomy and independence and improve their quality of life, as well as promote their active participation in society through technology”.

Anyone aged 55 and over, as well as entities that work with this group—such as seniors’ associations, care homes, day centres, senior centres, cultural centres, libraries, or town councils, among others—can request these free workshops at www.expertclick.org or by calling 674 72 76 23.
