The Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation announce the third edition of this award in memory of their former Economic Advisor.
The figure and work of Federico Prades will once again be recognized by the Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation with the announcement of the third edition of the Federico Prades Award for Young Economists, which carries a prize of 20,000 euros. Prades, who served as the AEB’s Economic Advisor for over 20 years, contributed decisively to laying the foundations of modern economic analysis in Spain.
The objective of this award is to promote and stimulate research among young economists so that they may find solutions to the major problems challenging our economy and contribute to the debate with new ideas and approaches, just as Federico Prades did throughout his professional career.
To be eligible for this award, researchers must be under 40 years of age as of December 31, 2021, whether applying individually or as part of a team.
The award will be granted to a research project or paper related to the status, evolution, and internationalization of the financial industry in its broadest sense—entities, markets, and authorities—and the regulatory framework affecting it.
The jury for the Federico Prades Prize for Young Economists will evaluate the quality of the work and the originality of the analysis, both in the proposed topic and the approach taken.
In this third edition, the submission period for papers will open on June 15, 2021, and close on December 15, 2021. The decision will be made public during the month of March 2022.
