Participate in the first financial education competition

February 6, 2020

Are you a secondary school student or teacher and want your class to participate in the first European financial education competition? The “European Money Quiz” will test the financial knowledge of children aged 13 to 15 from 30 countries across Europe.

The competition takes place in two phases:

Spanish Final

During the first phase, students in the 3rd and 4th years of ESO from various schools across Spain will compete against other centers. Each class will simultaneously answer questions on financial knowledge in a game. The class that achieves the highest number of correct answers in the shortest possible time will win the national competition.

European Final*

Two students from the winning class will win a trip to Brussels to represent Spain in the European final of the competition organized by the European Banking Federation (EBF). The 60 finalists will answer the same questions simultaneously in their own language. The winning team will receive a prize for their school, as well as a gift for their entire class.

Many of the schools competing in this contest participate in our financial education program “Your finances, your future”, an initiative organized by the Spanish Banking Association with the support of the Junior Achievement Foundation. If you would also like to participate in the program, you can contact the Junior Achievement Foundation (91.417.67.81).

The dates for both competitions change depending on the year. You can keep an eye on our Twitter @EdufinAEB to find out the dates!

Anyone wishing to practice for the national competition, or simply to improve their financial literacy or teach it in class, can do so by consulting these instructions:

*The Spanish Banking Association participates as the organizer of the competition. It will cover the cost of the trip to Brussels and accommodation for the winning team of the Spanish final (two students and one teacher) to compete in the European final.
