Undoubtedly, his incredible love for his work and his drive, which ensured that all updates from his area reached us on time as if he were sitting in his office, kept us deceived. That is the nature of such distinguished personalities: they seem eternal and as though nothing can break them.
There are surely people who knew and worked with Federico much longer than I did. In fact, I am left with the frustration of only having been able to collaborate with him for just over a year—a short time, but enough to appreciate the quality of his work. Because, let us be clear: Federico was a magnificent economist, a brilliant professional both in his arguments and in his analysis of economic reality.
