Over 800 students aged between 13 and 15 accepted the challenge to test their knowledge of personal finance during the national final of the European Money Quiz financial literacy competition, which took place on Thursday, May 28.
The competition included participants from educational centers across Spain, as well as children and relatives of employees from member banks of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) who volunteer in financial literacy initiatives.
For the first time since this event has been held, and due to the current context marked by the coronavirus health crisis and population confinement, these students from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of ESO connected to the competition from their homes.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Junior Achievement Foundation, a financial literacy leader with over one hundred years of experience, it was possible to achieve significant participation in this online event, where students simultaneously answered questions about personal finance and cybersecurity.
After a fiercely contested round via the Kahoot platform, young participants from Entrenaranjos International School, IES Domenico Scarlatti, and Mirabal International School were declared winners, and will receive a tablet as a prize to continue acquiring knowledge from anywhere at any time.
