Mr. José María Roldán was elected Vice President of the EBF on May 15, 2015 for a two-year term, renewable for an additional two years, as established by the statutes of the Federation, an organization that brings together the banking associations of 32 countries of the European Union and EFTA. Likewise, the President of the EBF, Frédéric Oudéa, CEO of Société Générale, has been renewed in this position for another two years.
Mr. José María Roldán has led the AEB since April 2014. He served as Director General of Banking Regulation at the Bank of Spain and member of its Executive Board between 2000 and 2013. During his tenure as Director General, he was a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Additionally, Mr. Roldán was founder and first chairman of the European Banking Supervision Committee, the precursor to the European Banking Authority (EBA).
