The Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation announce the second edition of the Federico Prades Award for Young Economists, endowed with €20,000, to recognize the work of the individual who served as its economic advisor for over 20 years and contributed decisively to understanding our economy, proposing policies to improve economic and social development, and anticipating the framework within which Spanish financial institutions should develop their business models.
With this award, the AEB aims to support young economists in researching and presenting ideas that stimulate debate and the search for solutions to the challenges facing the financial system, just as Federico Prades did throughout his professional career.
To be eligible for this award, candidates must be under 40 years of age as of December 31, 2019, whether applying individually or as a team.
The award will recognize a research paper related to the situation, evolution, and internationalization of the financial industry in its broadest sense—institutions, markets, and authorities—and the regulatory framework affecting it.
The jury of the Federico Prades Award for Young Economists will assess the quality of the work performed, its applied nature, and the originality of the analysis, both in the proposed topic and in the approach taken.
In this second edition, the submission period will open on April 30, 2019 and close on October 30, 2019. The decision will be announced in February 2020.
