CUNEF S.L.’s Board of Directors has agreed today, at the proposal of the AEB Foundation, to appoint Antonio Rodríguez-Pina as Chairman of the company following Álvaro Cuervo’s retirement. During the meeting, Board members thanked Álvaro Cuervo for his dedication to CUNEF, both for his contribution to the development of the Affiliated Centre and for his leadership in the process of transforming it into a private university, under the criteria of excellence, specialisation and internationalisation.

Álvaro Cuervo is an Emeritus Professor of Business Economics, with a long career as a lecturer and researcher. He was awarded the Jaime I Prize for Economics (1992). He has extensive professional experience as a board member of ACS, Sonae SGPS (Portugal), BA Glass (Portugal), BME and AENOR, among other companies.

Antonio Rodríguez-Pina thanked the Board of Trustees of the AEB Foundation and the CUNEF Board for their confidence, and expressed his enthusiasm and willingness to work alongside the Rector, Ana Isabel Fernández, to position CUNEF as a leading international university.

A CUNEF graduate in Economics and Business Administration with honours, Rodríguez-Pina has maintained his connection with the university over the years and was a lecturer from 1996 to 2004.
