The associations AEB, CECA and UNACC, in collaboration with the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), are working to enable credit institutions to advance the payment of unemployment benefits in order to help mitigate the consequences of the health crisis on the most vulnerable groups.
Institutions that voluntarily join the initiative will be able to proceed with the payment of said benefit promptly from the 3rd, in advance of the usual date on which it is normally made. The scheduled payment date for this month of April was the 9th.
Once again, credit institutions offer their full cooperation to the authorities to alleviate the economic effects of the serious situation caused by the coronavirus and reaffirm their commitment to provide support measures for people affected by the halt in activity and who find themselves in a vulnerable situation.
This initiative is in addition to a range of measures already implemented, such as the liquidity and financing facility with State guarantee so that companies and self-employed workers can overcome the difficulties arising from the current situation, the mortgage moratorium for vulnerable persons, or the deferral of rent payments for tenants of properties in the Social Housing Fund (FSV).
