The first edition of the Alcanza Awards has left us with unforgettable moments. With these awards, we recognize projects from non-profit organizations that are transforming people’s lives.
From the Spanish Banking Association Foundation, we support financial education and digital training initiatives that help develop key skills for navigating today’s world. Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to the jury for their commitment and support for this initiative! We continue to promote projects with real impact that foster inclusion through knowledge.
Financial inclusion reaches 99.4% of the population in Spain
Our Chairwoman Alejandra Kindelán highlights the banking sector’s commitment to financial inclusion, following a meeting of banking associations with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo.
During the meeting, progress in financial inclusion in rural areas was confirmed through the latest measures implemented as part of the banking sector’s ‘Roadmap,’ which have benefited 322,000 people and 889 additional municipalities.
Spain has the second densest branch network in Europe, with nearly 84,000 contact points available to citizens. Furthermore, over 80% of citizens state they have no difficulty accessing banking services and that banking is one of the services that has improved the most in the last year.
