You and Your Mobile is a training program aimed at elderly residents in the Community of Madrid. Its objective is to improve their use of mobile phones and, in doing so, contribute to their quality of life and social inclusion.
The AEB Foundation and the Spanish Banking Association develop this initiative together with the Alicia and Guillermo Foundation. Sessions are held in municipal and private senior centers, as well as in Madrid City Council facilities.
One of the program’s keys is the intergenerational encounter. The workshops are led by specialized teachers and supported by student volunteers from CUNEF University. This collaboration between generations creates an enriching learning space for both program attendees and CUNEF students.
The program features a series of updated materials designed based on the experience and best practices gathered from previous editions. This content is carefully reviewed each year and adapted to respond more effectively to the needs and appropriate language for elderly people.
As a supplement, students receive a practical resource in physical format—an accessible and clear brochure—containing useful tips on the safe and efficient use of their mobile devices. This material serves as a reference guide they can consult at home, especially if questions arise when putting the knowledge acquired during the sessions into practice.
Thanks to these resources, participants not only reinforce what they have learned in the classroom but also develop specific skills to interact with technology autonomously, responsibly, and adapted to their own needs. Ultimately, the program offers a comprehensive educational approach that combines theory, practice, and ongoing support to foster meaningful learning.
