The Spanish Banking Association (AEB) has formalized its membership in the Pan-Hispanic Network for Plain and Accessible Language, thereby reaffirming its commitment to transparent, understandable, and accessible communication, which is key to strengthening public trust in the financial sector.
During the signing ceremony, held alongside the president of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), Santiago Muñoz Machado, the president of the AEB, Alejandra Kindelán, highlighted the importance of language in people’s daily lives. “We know that language plays a decisive role in the day-to-day lives of millions of people, in decisions that affect their future, their assets, and their projects.”
The AEB’s incorporation into this network, which brings together public and private institutions, courts, foundations, media outlets, and representatives of the third sector, represents a further step in its aim to contribute to a more inclusive society through the use of plain language.
“Language is the best formula for weaving bonds and, if we want those relationships to be based on trust, transparency, and equity, we need to speak clearly,” Kindelán emphasized.
The AEB appreciates the collective drive of all members of the Network and proudly assumes the responsibility of being part of this plural community, committed to eliminating communication barriers and facilitating understanding for all citizens.
