Madrid City Council and the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) and its Foundation have reached a collaboration agreement to promote financial and digital education for citizens, and encourage training in cybersecurity. The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, and the President of AEB and its Foundation, Alejandra Kindelán, signed this agreement yesterday, which includes the transfer of audiovisual content from AEB to the City Council and strengthens collaboration between the parties.
Alberto Ríos, Director General of the Bank of Spain, participated in the signing ceremony of the agreement, which stems from the parties’ commitment to provide consumers with tools to expand their knowledge in the use of digital banking and municipal digital services.
Our President, Alejandra Kindelán, explained that we live in a permanent state of digital transformation and we all must participate safely and confidently. “The objective is for devices such as mobile phones and tablets, which are already part of our daily lives, to be considered as tools that make our lives easier, not as barriers or sources of risk,” she stated.
The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, recalled that local councils “are the administrations closest to citizens and, therefore, those in which they place the most trust,” highlighting the importance of this agreement “which will allow us to reach all groups who may feel most distanced from the opportunities offered by financial institutions in the digital sphere.”
