The Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation are launching the first Federico Prades Award for Young Economists, endowed with €25,000, in memory of the person who served as AEB’s Economic Adviser for more than 20 years and made a decisive contribution to laying the foundations of modern economic analysis in Spain.
With this award, AEB aims to support young economists in researching and presenting ideas that help foster debate and the search for solutions to the challenges facing the economy, as Federico Prades did throughout his professional career.
The award jury, which will be biennial, will assess the quality of the work carried out, its originality, its applied nature, and its graphical presentation. Projects or research papers related to the following may be submitted:
In this first call, the submission period will open on 1 June 2017 and close on 30 November 2017. The decision will be announced in February 2018, and the prize will be awarded to the winner or winners at an event organised by the Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation, which will make every effort to ensure the widest possible dissemination of the winning work.
