Spanish banks have demonstrated adequate capitalization to face potential economic scenarios that are even more adverse, as shown today by the stress tests conducted by the European Banking Authority (EBA).
The “capital ratio recognized by supervisors” is in all cases above the 5% minimum required in this test. Consequently, no Spanish bank requires additional capital.
It should be noted that no Spanish bank has received public capital support to achieve this result.
