The Spanish Banking Association (AEB), CECA and the National Union of Credit Cooperatives (Unacc) have received the “Finanzas Para Todos” award for best trajectory in the development of the Financial Education Plan for the ‘Aula Financiera y Digital’ initiative. This award, granted by the Bank of Spain, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, is a recognition of the Spanish banking sector’s commitment to the financial and digital education of society.
The associations AEB, CECA and Unacc have been working for some time to promote the population’s access to knowledge and skills that make economic concepts more understandable and enable financial decision-making with a greater degree of information and independence. Likewise, they join efforts to facilitate the acquisition of skills for the use of digital platforms, in a context of progressive digital transformation. This trajectory is consolidated with the commitments assumed within the framework of the Strategic Protocol to Strengthen the Social and Sustainable Commitment of Banking, which includes the commitment to promoting financial and digital education. Specifically, it reflects the determination to foster financial and digital education, and to promote a financial and digital education network that helps society obtain the appropriate knowledge to operate with greater security in the new environments and channels made available to them.
With this objective, AEB, CECA and Unacc launched “Aula Financiera y Digital” on May 19, a platform that brings together all the training initiatives developed in these areas by the financial institutions of the three associations. The website concentrates more than 280 initiatives, which respond to the needs and interests of the entire population, organized according to subject matter and different groups, with special attention to the most vulnerable sectors and their needs. This site, permanently updated, presents the initiatives in an agile and accessible manner, with different search engines, and features immediate training resources, through videos and podcasts.
This progress has been recognized by the Bank of Spain, the CNMV and the Ministry of Economic Affairs with the “Finanzas Para Todos” award, valuing the significant contribution of the banking associations AEB, CECA and Unacc to improving the population’s financial knowledge. The award ceremony will take place next Monday, October 3, on Financial Education Day, at the CNMV headquarters in Barcelona.
