Within the framework of Financial Education Day, celebrated this year on October 7, 2024, the Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation, together with Junior Achievement Spain and Cresory, are launching the free financial education program ‘Finances in the Community’ for students aged 9 to 12.
This initiative, aimed at students in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of primary school, consists of three 45-minute sessions and was created with the aim of bringing children closer to their community, where they will discover how its members work, generate income, spend, and interact.
The program consists of various stories, games, and role-plays, so that students can learn about how society and the economy function in a simple and educational way. Additionally, they will have free access to an innovative and interactive platform developed by Cresory.
Through this gamification tool, students will explore a wide range of financial topics, such as loans, credit, insurance, and mortgages. Each level consists of an explanatory video, a dynamic game to help assimilate the concepts, and a round of questions to consolidate the knowledge acquired.
The goal of ‘Finances in the Community’ is to provide practical tools and resources so that children can make informed financial decisions, promote saving and good debt management, and foster their long-term economic stability.
Schools can benefit from this initiative through the Junior Achievement Foundation, which, with over 100 years of history, has become one of the world’s largest international organizations promoting financial education from an early age.
