The AEB General Council has agreed to propose to the next General Assembly, convened for April 12, 2018, the re-election of Mr José María Roldán Alegre as President of the Association for a new four-year term.
The AEB bylaws establish, in Article 16, paragraph 3, that the President of the Association shall be “presented by consensus by the five banks (*) with the largest volume of assets that have appointed members to the Council”, and that “his appointment shall be made by the General Assembly”.
(*) The five banks are Santander, BBVA, Banco Sabadell, Bankinter and Deutsche Bank.
