The European Banking Federation (EBF) published the document “Financial Literacy Playbook for Europe” in November 2020 to bring together all the financial education initiatives being carried out in 35 European countries. The document is the result of the efforts of national banking associations across Europe and the EBF, with which we work actively through the EBF Financial Education Committee.
The document highlights the importance of continuing to equip society with financial skills in these uncertain times, so that people can adapt to the changes ahead. In this regard, it provides valuable insight into the banking sector’s financial education initiatives across Europe and can be used as a reference guide for each country, as it makes it possible to explore what the banking sector is doing, together with governments and leading NGOs, to promote financial education and financial literacy. This publication is a comprehensive overview that complements reports on financial literacy in Europe, such as those already published by the European Banking Authority, the OECD and the European Commission.
