In 2015, the Hungarian Banking Association joined the European Money Week program as one of the founders to improve the financial education of children and young people through the PÉNZ7 initiative, which grows thanks to the commendable cooperation between the national government, financial service providers, and non-profit organizations. Participating in this initiative are the Ministry of Human Capacities, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the Hungarian Banking Association, the Money Compass Foundation, and Junior Achievement Hungary (JAM) as co-organizing partners.
Furthermore, the Hungarian Banking Association carries out other programs, such as the ‘Financial Literacy Ambassadors Award’, which supports outstanding contributions from civil society. Additionally, it promotes a university program called the ‘Financial Influence Center’ to equip students with the knowledge and sense of responsibility required to manage their personal finances. The objective is to disseminate advanced financial knowledge, including current research findings, new technologies, and financial innovations.
