The President of the Spanish Banking Association, José María Roldán, and the Managing Director of the Junior Achievement Spain Foundation, Blanca Narváez, today presented the 2019 National Financial Education Award to students from Divina Pastora School in Getafe (Madrid).

The 3ºA students at this school received their trophy at AEB headquarters for winning the financial knowledge competition, in which 1,200 students from 30 secondary schools across Spain (3rd and 4th years of compulsory secondary education) took part via the online platform Kahoot.

Two students from the winning class, Iratxe and María, travelled to Brussels to represent Spain in the final of the European competition, held last May under the coordination of the European Banking Federation, which brought together young people aged 13 to 15 from 28 countries.

The secondary schools that competed in the national contest were taking part in the fifth edition of the “Your Finances, Your Future” programme, a financial education initiative organised by AEB together with its foundation and the Junior Achievement Foundation, to promote the development of healthy financial habits among young people.
