The President of the Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation, Alejandra Kindelán, and the President of the Somos Digital Association and Director of Telecommunications and Digital Administration of Castilla y León, Antonio Ibáñez, signed a collaboration agreement today to promote the use of secure digital banking, accompanied by the Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation of Castilla y León, María González Corral.

This joint project, which will benefit over 2,000 people in the first year, stems from the commitment to improve people’s daily lives through the use of online banking and ATMs to perform basic banking operations. ‘My Digital Banking: Easy and Secure’ will offer in-person and online workshops and personalized guidance, at no cost, for adults of all ages.

Somos Digital has a network of 2,372 digital skills centers and 2,319 trainers across 16 partner networks, covering virtually the entire national territory. In the case of Castilla y León, the Ministry of Mobility and Digital Transformation participates with its network of CyL Digital Spaces.

In the course, participants will receive training on basic security guidelines for online operations and will be able to familiarize themselves with the use of online banking applications and ATMs through a generic web simulator, both in the workshop and from home.

A web space will also be created so that everyone can access the training content. The objective is for beneficiaries to gain confidence and autonomy to interact with banking through digital channels.

For the Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation of Castilla y León, María González Corral, “the commitment to promoting digital skills is essential, and agreements like today’s make it easier for citizens to familiarize themselves with and practice their most common banking operations, with all security guarantees.”

“The banking sector is committed to facilitating digital training for all individuals so they can benefit from the advantages of technology as a tool to improve their personal well-being,” states Alejandra Kindelán, President of the AEB and its foundation.

“The main objective of the association is to ensure that citizens are 100% digital, and today we are taking an important step that, in addition to promoting skills in online banking, demonstrates the importance of collaboration between different entities,” according to the President of Somos Digital, Antonio Ibáñez.
