{"id":38760,"date":"2017-06-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-31T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aebanca.es\/actualidad\/notas-de-prensa\/federico-prades-award-for-young-economists-3\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T09:42:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T07:42:54","slug":"federico-prades-award-for-young-economists-3","status":"publish","type":"notas-de-prensa","link":"https:\/\/aebanca.es\/en\/actualidad\/notas-de-prensa\/federico-prades-award-for-young-economists-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Federico Prades Award for Young Economists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation are launching the first Federico Prades Award for Young Economists, endowed with \u20ac25,000, in memory of the person who served as AEB\u2019s Economic Adviser for more than 20 years and made a decisive contribution to laying the foundations of modern economic analysis in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>With this award, AEB aims to support young economists in researching and presenting ideas that help foster debate and the search for solutions to the challenges facing the economy, as Federico Prades did throughout his professional career.<\/p>\n<p>The award jury, which will be biennial, will assess the quality of the work carried out, its originality, its applied nature, and its graphical presentation. Projects or research papers related to the following may be submitted: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Economic forecasting, whether from a methodological perspective or an applied approach, that enables a better understanding of the economic outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Economic policy actions related to some of the main structural problems affecting our economy, such as, among others, unemployment, indebtedness, or productivity.<\/li>\n<li>The situation, evolution, and internationalisation of financial markets and the regulatory framework affecting them.<\/li>\n<li>As for candidates, individuals under 35 years of age may apply for this award, either individually or as part of a research team. The total award amount will be \u20ac25,000. Two prizes may be awarded: a first prize of \u20ac20,000 and a second prize of \u20ac5,000.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In this first call, the submission period will open on 1 June 2017 and close on 30 November 2017. The decision will be announced in February 2018, and the prize will be awarded to the winner or winners at an event organised by the Spanish Banking Association and the AEB Foundation, which will make
