The Spanish Banking Association, on behalf of its members and all its employees, wishes to express its deep sorrow over the passing of Mr. Federico Prades Sierra, who held the position of Economic Advisor of this Association from 1991 to the present.<\/p>\n
His colleagues at AEB wish to highlight his human qualities, as well as his solid training and intellectual capacity that made him one of Spain’s leading economists over the past four decades.<\/p>\n
The president of AEB, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Rold\u00e1n, stated yesterday that “for those of us with origins in the world of economic analysis services of public and private entities, he was simply an irreplaceable, almost mythical historical reference. He leaves behind good disciples who knew how to continue the path he traced.”<\/em><\/p>\n He also noted that “the description of Federico Prades, as a person, colleague and professional, would not be complete without mentioning his love for work, carried to such an extreme that it could go against his own interests and his health. Until the last days of his life he carried out that economic monitoring with passion, to the point that all news reached us with the same punctuality as when he was not ill (thanks to Pepi’s collaboration, of course). That is why the news of his sad passing surprised us all: such was his strength of spirit that nothing seemed able to stop him.”<\/em><\/p>\n In conclusion, the president of AEB stated that “the loss of Federico Prades leaves an impossible void to fill, and we can only hope that his passion for the world of economics and banking will serve as an example for new generations.
