Following the decision of Mr. Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Rold\u00e1n Alegre not to seek a third term as president of the AEB, the five leading banks represented on its General Council have agreed, in accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of its Articles of Association, to present the candidacy of Alejandra Kindel\u00e1n before the Association’s General Assembly to be held on April 5, 2022.<\/p>\n
The outgoing president wishes to express to the AEB members his gratitude for the trust placed in him over the past eight years, as well as his satisfaction at having been able to represent the sector during this period.<\/p>\n
Alejandra Kindel\u00e1n, who has expressed her gratitude, interest and availability for the position, is currently head of the Research Department, Public Policy and Institutional Relations at Banco Santander. She has been a director of Santander Argentina and is currently a director of Santander Consumer Finance. Before joining this institution, she worked as a consultant for the World Bank. <\/p>\n
A graduate in Economics and Political Science from Wellesley College (Massachusetts), Alejandra Kindel\u00e1n holds postgraduate studies from IESE (Madrid) and INSEAD (Fontainebleau). Born in Caracas (Venezuela), she has lived in the United Kingdom and the United States and has three children. <\/p>\n
