Francisco Ur\u00eda has been appointed Director General of the Spanish Institute of Banking and Finance (IEBF), an initiative promoted by the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) Foundation and CUNEF University.<\/p>\n
The institute is a forum for dialogue and knowledge that seeks to connect academic analysis with the role of the banking sector in driving the economy and social progress.<\/p>\n
The addition of Ur\u00eda reinforces this mission and complements the work being carried out by the Director of the IEBF, Manuel Balmaseda, whose leadership has been key to the creation and development of the Institute.<\/p>\n
Ur\u00eda has extensive experience in the financial sector, where he has held national and international management responsibilities.<\/p>\n
“I am very excited to take on this new professional stage as Director General of the Institute of Banking and Finance, where I hope to contribute to the analysis and dissemination of matters of interest from an academic perspective,” says Ur\u00eda.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining the Institute, Ur\u00eda served as Global Head of Banking since 2021 and was a partner at KPMG and Head of the Financial Sector in Spain since 2010. He previously held prominent positions such as State Attorney, Undersecretary of Finance, and Head of Legal and Tax at the AEB, where he also served as Deputy Secretary. His professional experience is further complemented by his distinguished academic activity. <\/p>\n
