As the first week since the State of Alarm was declared in our country on March 14 draws to a close, the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) expresses its deepest appreciation to all professionals in the sector who, through their effort and personal commitment, are making it possible for customers to have daily access to the services required to meet their financial needs.<\/p>\n
In this regard, it is important to recognize the significant role of the entities and the great flexibility they have demonstrated in quickly and effectively designing and implementing the best protocols for the prevention of occupational risks arising from COVID-19, for all employees and especially for those who, by the nature of their role, provide in-person customer service.<\/p>\n
The implementation of these protocols has involved the rollout of teleworking systems in record time, the establishment of special measures for the maximum protection of the most vulnerable individuals, and the adaptation of staffing, networks, hours, and working methods in branches. All this is aimed at continuing to provide the best service to customers while minimizing the evident risks of the current pandemic as much as possible. <\/p>\n
The AEB would like to thank the trade unions for their collaboration and for the proposals they have submitted, which have always been received with the utmost openness, regarding a matter that concerns us all and requires the support of a united society.<\/p>\n
We also appreciate the understanding and responsible behavior of all our customers in visiting branches only for urgent matters that cannot be resolved through digital or telephone banking services, or via the ATMs available to them.<\/p>\n
For all these reasons, the Spanish Banking Association expresses its gratitude to customers, employees, and companies, while reiterating its full cooperation with health and administrative authorities in the fight against the coronavirus.<\/p>\n
