As a precautionary measure in response to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus, the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) and its Foundation have adapted the sixth edition of their financial education program ‘Your Finances, Your Future’ to an online format to ensure the continuity of their work in schools with all necessary guarantees.<\/p>\n
During Financial Education Week, AEB reaffirms its commitment to technology as a key ally in introducing economic and financial knowledge to students aged 13 to 15, and its firm determination to contribute to the development of healthy financial habits among young people for everyday decision-making in the future.<\/p>\n
In collaboration with Junior Achievement Foundation, a global leader in financial education with over one hundred years of experience, AEB launched the sixth edition of its program last March, thanks to bank employees who volunteer at schools to bring financial education closer to young people.<\/p>\n
However, the evolution of the pandemic has made it advisable to suspend in-person sessions of the program at all educational centers, so the content has been adapted to a fully digital format to enable volunteer employees from 17 banking institutions to deliver them via the Internet.<\/p>\n
In this new edition of the program, students will be able to learn, for example, how to create a family budget, how to shop responsibly, how to avoid major cyber fraud, or why it is necessary to save to better face unexpected financial situations that may arise and achieve financial independence.<\/p>\n
AEB and its member banks thus demonstrate, once again, that their contribution to financial education reflects a sustained, long-term commitment, as only consistent educational action can lead to better use and understanding of financial services by citizens.<\/p>\n
