{"id":37818,"date":"2022-11-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aebanca.es\/actualidad\/notas-de-prensa\/the-banking-sector-launches-a-web-space-to-strengthen-access-to-financial-services\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T12:38:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T10:38:15","slug":"the-banking-sector-launches-a-web-space-to-strengthen-access-to-financial-services","status":"publish","type":"notas-de-prensa","link":"https:\/\/aebanca.es\/en\/actualidad\/notas-de-prensa\/the-banking-sector-launches-a-web-space-to-strengthen-access-to-financial-services\/","title":{"rendered":"The banking sector launches a web space to strengthen access to financial services"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>The associations AEB, CECA, and Unacc activate the web space of the <a href=\"https:\/\/observatorioinclusionfinanciera.es\/\">Financial Inclusion Observatory<\/a>, which compiles the measures adopted to guarantee access for the entire population to banking services<\/li>\n<li>This new space compiles the actions implemented in accordance with the Strategic Protocol to Strengthen the Social and Sustainable Commitment of the Banking Sector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Spanish Banking Association (AEB), CECA, and the National Union of Credit Cooperatives (Unacc) today present the web space of the <a href=\"https:\/\/observatorioinclusionfinanciera.es\/\">Financial Inclusion Observatory<\/a>, which reflects the measures and agreements reached by the banking sector to increase the number of accesses to financial services in Spain from the current 98% to 100% of the population.<\/p>\n<p>With this new space, the banking sector reaffirms its commitment to guaranteeing financial inclusion, as outlined in point 5 of the Strategic Protocol to Strengthen the Social and Sustainable Commitment of the Banking Sector and its extensions, with particular emphasis on rural areas and groups requiring more personalized attention.<\/p>\n<p>Spain has one of the densest banking networks in the European Union: it is the third country with the most access points per inhabitant to financial services. 98% of adults have a bank account, and 98.6% reside in a municipality with access to banking services. In this context, the banking sector is implementing actions to promote 100% access to banking services for the population, through a framework of action with three pillars: inclusion in rural areas, inclusion of groups such as the elderly or those with disabilities, and inclusion through training.  <\/p>\n<p>To improve service in rural areas, banking associations have recently agreed on a roadmap with measures aimed at residents of municipalities that currently do not have any in-person access points \u2013 and, in some cases, never have \u2013 or only have one. Additionally, a collaboration agreement has been signed with Correos to facilitate access to cash in rural areas through the Correos Cash service. <\/p>\n<p>Added to this is the decalogue of measures aimed at improving attention for the elderly or those with disabilities, with actions such as extended office hours, preferential treatment in in-person or telephone service, adaptation of access channels like websites or apps, and training measures for both employees and customers, according to their interests.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding training, the banking sector dedicates extensive efforts to promoting the acquisition of financial literacy and digital skills, which have been complemented by the availability of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aulafinancieraydigital.es\/\">&#8220;Financial and Digital Classroom&#8221;<\/a> platform, promoted by AEB, CECA, and Unacc; an effort recognized with the &#8220;Finanzas Para Todos&#8221; 2022 award granted by the Bank of Spain, the CNMV, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation.<\/p>\n<p>The web space of the Financial Inclusion Observatory also offers information on the monitoring and updating of these measures, forming part of the commitments undertaken by the sector, and reflects the permanence and priority given to this purpose of financial inclusion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/s1.aebanca.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/el-sector-bancario-lanza-un-espacio-web-para-reforzar-el-acceso-a-los-servicios-financieros.pdf\">Download the press release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Spanish Banking Association (AEB), CECA, and the National Union of Credit Cooperatives (Unacc) today present the web space of the Financial Inclusion Observatory, which reflects the measures and agreements reached by the banking sector to increase the number of accesses to financial services in Spain from the current 98% to 100% of the population.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":37819,"parent":0,"template":"","etiquetas-prensa":[],"class_list":["post-37818","notas-de-prensa","type-notas-de-prensa","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
