Protecting oneself against cyberattacks is a shared responsibility between the banking institution and the client. <\/p>\n<p>The awareness and information initiative is based on videos and audio with basic precautions and practical tips to protect personal data and prevent cyber scams. It will be disseminated through digital platforms of various Spanish media (press, radio, and television), as well as on the digital channels of the entities promoting the campaign. Meta collaborates in the dissemination of content through its platforms.  <\/p>\n<p>The campaign will also feature brochures that can be distributed in the branches of the entities, and awareness messages will be reinforced on general radio stations.<\/p>\n<p>This campaign joins all the efforts made by the financial sector with cybersecurity training programs aimed at different segments of the population and constant communications to clients to alert them to the latest detected fraud mechanisms and practical tips to avoid, as far as possible, cyber scams.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign presentation event, held this afternoon at the Casa de las Alhajas in Madrid, began with an opening address by AEB President, Alejandra Kindel\u00e1n. CECA&#8217;s General Director, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda M\u00e9ndez, and the Bank of Spain&#8217;s General Director of Financial Conduct and Banknotes, Alberto R\u00edos, discussed the financial sector&#8217;s commitment to secure digitalization. <\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, Unacc&#8217;s Secretary General, Cristina Freijanes, and ASNEF&#8217;s Secretary General, Ignacio Pla, debated the importance of training and prevention in the fight against cyber scams with the head of the Civil Guard&#8217;s Cybersecurity Coordination Unit, Juan Salom Clotet, and with the head of the National Police&#8217;s Technological Investigation Brigade, Jos\u00e9 Garc\u00eda Serrano. The closing remarks were delivered by Incibe&#8217;s Secretary General, Carla Redondo Galbarriatu. <\/p>\n<p>According to the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), cyber scams are a growing phenomenon, and half of the Spanish population has suffered a scam or an attempted scam online in the last 12 months.
