{"id":37671,"date":"2024-11-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aebanca.es\/actualidad\/notas-de-prensa\/removing-barriers-to-capital-movements-drives-growth-according-to-the-federico-prades-award-winner\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T12:35:35","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T10:35:35","slug":"removing-barriers-to-capital-movements-drives-growth-according-to-the-federico-prades-award-winner","status":"publish","type":"notas-de-prensa","link":"https:\/\/aebanca.es\/en\/actualidad\/notas-de-prensa\/removing-barriers-to-capital-movements-drives-growth-according-to-the-federico-prades-award-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"Removing Barriers to Capital Movements Drives Growth, According to the Federico Prades Award Winner"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Economist and professor at Columbia University (New York) Bruno Pellegrino wins the fourth edition of this award<\/li>\n<li>The jury selected his work &#8220;Barriers to Capital Movements&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Federico Prades Award for Young Economists, granted by the AEB Foundation and the Spanish Banking Association, has been awarded in its fourth edition to Bruno Pellegrino for his study &#8216;Barriers to Capital Movements&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The award in memory of the former Chief Economist of the AEB for thirty years, endowed by the AEB Foundation with \u20ac20,000, will be presented in the first quarter of 2025 by the President of the AEB and its foundation, Alejandra Kindel\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>In his work, Pellegrino maintains the thesis that, in the current global context of increasing protectionism, removing barriers to capital could increase global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 7% and significantly reduce existing economic and social welfare gaps between countries.
