The president of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB), Alejandra Kindel\u00e1n, stated today at the Finresp annual meeting that sustainability is a lever for growth and competitiveness, essential for economic and social well-being.<\/p>\n\n

Sustainable financing in Spain exceeded \u20ac90,000 million in loans; and financing in the form of green, social, and sustainable bonds exceeded \u20ac17,000 million, of which two-thirds were issued by the financial sector, she detailed.<\/p>\n\n

At the closing of the event, the newly appointed president of Finresp emphasized that “there will be no sustainable competitiveness if we ignore the climate and social risks that directly affect economic stability.”<\/p>\n\n

At the same time, she explained that the transition toward a production model that is more respectful of the environment “will only be lasting if it strengthens the productive fabric, generates growth, drives innovation, and allows companies to compete in an increasingly demanding global environment.”<\/p>\n\n

“Finresp’s sustainability agenda is active and connects directly with competitiveness and economic security,” she emphasized, after recalling that Finresp, as a benchmark space for ESG issues, promotes dialogue, the creation of knowledge, and solutions for economic and social transformation.<\/p>\n\n

However, for its agenda to be effective and lasting, it needs public policies that provide legal certainty, predictability, and less bureaucracy, Kindel\u00e1n noted, in favor of “acting with realism and a broader perspective in the face of a changing context.”<\/p>\n\n

In the current environment of enormous geopolitical tension, the president of AEB and Finresp highlighted the urgency of strengthening Europe’s autonomy and resilience, defining its global role through a solid foreign policy and a real economy based on investment and long-term planning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
