In my opinion, these are the changes that the Spanish banking system has implemented in recent years. In an environment of global financial and economic crisis, increased competition (not only within the sector but also from new operators), and under constant regulatory uncertainty, it has implemented changes that were unthinkable just 10 years ago. From sector consolidation to size adjustment; significant recapitalization and restructuring; improved governance and especially transparency. Spanish banking has become more international (45% of its global assets are abroad), more solid and resilient. And with strong teams.
