One of the main objectives of the AEB Foundation is to support economic research. Since 2017, the Foundation, in collaboration with the Spanish Banking Association, has organized the Federico Prades Young Economists Award, which aims to encourage, stimulate, recognize, and reward the research work of young economists on the role of financial institutions in contemporary society.
This award, which carries a prize of 20,000 euros, pays tribute to the economist Federico Prades, who dedicated his professional career to economic analysis for more than 20 years at the AEB. The prize, which is awarded every two years, assesses the quality of the papers submitted based on their originality, practical applicability, and graphic formulation.
